Relative Music Theory Personal Non-Commercial License (RMT-PNC) v1.0
1. Definitions
- "Software" means the Relative Music Theory (RMT) application and all associated code, data files, configurations, assets (including but not limited to samples, images, and presets provided in the repository), and documentation included in this repository, excluding third-party components that are separately licensed.
 - "Outputs" means musical works, audio renders, MIDI, scores, project files, videos, screenshots, streams, and other media generated with or depicting the Software.
 - "Non-Commercial" means any use that is not intended for or directed toward commercial advantage or monetary compensation of any kind, including but not limited to ad revenue, sponsorship, subscriptions, ticket sales, paid lessons, commissioned work, or monetized platforms and channels.
 - "Private Modification" means a modification of the Software that you create and use only for yourself, that you do not distribute or make available to others, and that you do not host as a service.
 - "Redistribution" means any act of sharing, publishing, transferring, selling, sublicensing, hosting, or otherwise making the Software or any substantial portion of it available to third parties, including Software-as-a-Service or public web hosting.
 
2. Grant
Subject to the terms below, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to:
- a) Use: Install and run the Software solely for Non-Commercial purposes.
 - b) Modify (Private Only): Create and use Private Modifications; you may not distribute or host them.
 - c) Create Outputs (Non-Commercial Only): Use the Software to create Outputs and share those Outputs only for Non-Commercial purposes, subject to the Attribution requirement in Section 4.
 
3. Restrictions
You must not:
- a) Commercial Use (Software): Use the Software, or any part of it, for commercial purposes.
 - b) Commercial Use (Outputs): Exploit Outputs for commercial purposes (including monetization on ad-supported platforms, sponsorships, subscriptions, ticketed events, commissioned work, or paid distribution).
 - c) Redistribution: Distribute, publish, host, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise make the Software or any substantial portion of it available to any third party, including via Software-as-a-Service or public APIs.
 - d) Derivatives Distribution: Distribute modifications or derivative works of the Software. Private Modifications are allowed only if kept private.
 - e) Remove Notices: Remove or alter any copyright, license, or attribution notices within the Software or assets.
 - f) Circumvention: Use the Software in any way intended to circumvent these restrictions.
 
4. Attribution for Public Sharing
When you publicly share Outputs or media that depict or are generated with the Software (including videos, streams, screenshots, posts, or hosted audio), you must include clear attribution:

      Reasonable equivalents are permitted provided they are substantially similar and include the name "Relative Music Theory (RMT)" and a link.
5. Ownership; Ideas and Concepts
- The Software and all intellectual property rights in it are owned by the Licensor. No rights are granted except as expressly stated in this license.
 - You retain copyright in your own original creative contributions within Outputs; however, your right to use, share, or distribute Outputs remains subject to the Non-Commercial limitation and the Attribution requirement.
 - Nothing in this license restricts anyone from independently implementing ideas, theories, or concepts similar to those illustrated by the Software, provided they do not copy the Software, its assets, or other protectable expression.
 
6. Third-Party Components
The Software may include or depend on third-party components under their own licenses. Those licenses govern those components. This license does not grant rights to third-party components beyond what those licenses allow.
7. Termination
This license terminates automatically if you breach it. Upon termination, you must immediately stop using the Software and destroy all copies, including Private Modifications. The Licensor may, at their sole discretion, offer a cure period or separate commercial terms.
8. Warranty Disclaimer
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. THE LICENSOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THIS LICENSE.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE LICENSOR'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SOFTWARE OR THIS LICENSE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE LICENSE (IF ANY), OR USD $0 IF NONE.
10. No Patent License
No patent rights are granted under this license.
11. Severability
If any provision of this license is held unenforceable, it shall be severed, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
